North Carolina is a state on the eastern part of the state. North Carolina has become a major tourist destination due to its beautiful beaches and great history. It is the ninth-largest and tenth-most populated of the fifty states. It is bordered by South Carolina to north, Virginia to south, Georgia and Tennessee to the southwest, and Alabama to the northwest. This means that North Carolina has an excellent geographic location for it's beaches and attractions.

North Carolina was founded in 1610, when it was first discovered by Europeans from Europe. There was a French fort nearby and the area was known as the French Broad, until the English brought with them the name. The colonial settlement of Raleigh was established by the Dutch in 1633, and later the colony became known as Wilmington.

Today North Carolina has many attractions for residents and visitors alike. In addition to these attractions, many activities are available for visitors to participate in. These activities range from kayaking, swimming, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, hiking trails, hiking, mountain biking, water skiing, sky diving, rafting, sailing, boating, camping, mountain climbing, golfing, canoeing, water sports, and many other types of recreational activity.

When visiting North Carolina, there is a wide variety of lodging available. There are many hotels and motels to choose from. There are also some homes that are suitable for tourists and people that need some type of home base while they are on vacation in North Carolina. These homes provide many different accommodations for those that are traveling and staying in one of their homes on vacation.

One of the best parts about staying in North Carolina is that many homes are located close to local attractions. There is a beach on the other side of Carolina Beach that is only about a two or three hour drive from many North Carolina homes. Many homes are near many theme parks, historical sites, and even the Tar Heel State capitol.

North Carolina is full of wonderful scenery and historic places. There are many historic locations that are near North Carolina Beach and the state capital of Raleigh, as well. The state capitol has some of the most impressive buildings, monuments, and statues in the entire United States of America. For those that wish to see the North Carolina coastline, there are many popular places to go and many places to see and activities to do while you are in North Carolina.
